Ebook Release

Over the past month, I’ve been busy focusing on marketing The Last Soul. The official launch is today, August 23rd. I’ve been checking pre-sale reports frequently, and am happy to see all the friends and fans who are out there supporting me. If any of you are reading this, know that it means the world to me!

I have learned a hell of a lot since setting my book up for pre-release. When I first started writing my book, I was under the impression that I had a publisher lined up. That didn’t work out. While I hold no malice towards the company, it was disheartening. I hadn’t prepared for the marketing aspect of my book AT ALL. Many individuals have helped me for the past few months, so I am happy with the direction everything is headed. I know there are still loads of things I need to do to make this book a true success, but it all comes with time. I try to do anything I can, whenever I can, for however long I can.

Typically, my laptop goes anywhere I go, because I never know when I’ll have 5 minutes to work on something. It makes for long days mentally and short days physically. It always turns dark before I am ready! I have been flooring during the daytime and working evenings as a bartender -- definitely burning the candle at both ends. When adding the book on top of attempting to be a good husband and father, my world was on fire. Something had to give.  My wife and I decided that flooring wasn’t working out, so I'm back to writing whenever I can, watching my daughter during the day, and bar tending at night. While it's not perfect, things are feeling more normal. Oh yeah, did I mention? We are also in the middle of building a home, which is its own special headache. But ya know what? It's all going to be worth it. I can’t help but feeling positive about all these things. It’s a big change from eight years ago when I was homeless. I wouldn’t trade any of it away.

I have been steadily working on book two of The Oreniah Codex. I have some ideas, but haven't settled on a title for the book yet. I write whenever I just can’t work on marketing. It's what I want to do anyway. Like most writers, I think it's safe to say I’d rather write and not worry about anything else. Such is life. I just remind myself that the whole point of this endeavor is to tell a story. If I make money while doing it, great, but that isn’t the primary objective. I’d love to be a full-time author someday, but the percentage of us that make it to that point, let alone in their first year, is quite small.

Its been SUPER exciting to get feedback from people who are reading my book. So far as I'm aware, no one has finished the book yet. I haven’t received any negative feedback yet either. While I am sure it will come in some form eventually, its been great not having that in the back of my head. I’ll admit, there are two people that have bought my book and I am nervous as hell waiting for their feedback. God willing, it’s not awful.

My goal after this launch is to get as many reviews as possible. In order to submit my novel to different websites, I need to have several good reviews. There is a gold mine of opportunity out there.  Right now, the only thing stopping me from tapping into it is having the reviews. So, if you are reading this, please leave me one!

Please leave The Last Soul a review after you have read it at any of these links:
