Catching Up!

Hello everyone!

It has been a long time since I put up a blog post. My supportive marketing agent reminded me that I should write one. I’d have to agree since a lot has happened since my last entry.

While my home is not part of the writing process, it is a part of my life. Thankfully, we are done with the construction and moved in! There are a few small things to wrap up, but life was back to its semi-normalcy. Then, Covid-19 happened – that definitely threw a kink into my life and the lives of my characters. And now we have a new baby boy, Mason Jon Lively, who is doing fantastic. Between Covid-19, our new baby boy, and the racial tensions in America, the ideas that I once held and the motivations for my books have changed.

That’s not to say I am not writing – quite the opposite actually. In the last few months, I have written several chapters to the sequel of The Last Soul. I started a new job, and also have the opportunity to write more. I am extremely grateful. On top of that, I was inspired to start writing a story that takes place in the universe I’ve created around Oreniah. I have completely detailed out another set of characters, a new world, and even a few key chapters for that novel. I want this new story to tackle some of the frustrations that Americans are currently going through. These issues are not specific to only the United States. However, it’s where I live, so it’s where I’m impacted the most.

I’m excited to share this story, but my focus still remains on finishing the sequel to The Last Soul. My intention is to finish writing the complete story. Then, I’ll find a good spot where I can break it into two books – releasing book 2 first, and then releasing book 3 around six months later.

I have learned a lot through the release of my first book. I intend to rectify those mistakes, and provide my readers with the highest quality product. One of the missteps I made was not having a group of beta readers. So, if you are interested in being a beta reader for me, please contact me through email or Facebook.

Keep your head up during these difficult times. It can be tough to manage all the difficulties life is throwing our way, but show each other love and support, and we’ll get through this tough time together. When all else fails, escape into a different reality by picking up a book. It doesn’t have to be mine. There are loads of great authors out there and I promise, whether you read a lot or a little, there is someone out there writing exactly the story you want to be a part of. You just have to find it.

To sum up, my writing is full steam ahead. Things in life are good and calming down. The two sequels to The Lost Soul are being actively written, along with a side story within the same universe. As always, I really appreciate your support.
